    Flavio Junqueira leads the Pravega project at DellEMC. Before joining the Pravega team, he worked for organizations such as Yahoo! Research, Microsoft Research, and Confluent. He holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of California in San Diego. He is interested in various aspects of distributed systems, including distributed algorithms, concurrency, and scalability. He has co-authored a number of papers in the areas of distributed computing and Web search, and has co-authored a book from O’Reilly on his Apache ZooKeeper work. Flavio is an enthusiast of open-source projects and has contributed to Apache projects, such as Apache ZooKeeper, Apache BookKeeper, and Apache Kafka. He focuses on the Pravega open-source project.
